The Panther Moroda crystal figurine continues a tradition of Panther Swarovski figurines previously produced in black and clear crystal.  All three Swarovski figurines are similar and quite elegant.

The Panther Moroda is a dramatic sculpture that captures the natural color tones of the real animal.  Moroda crystal reflects light as a metallic blue, warm beige, or brown-black tone.  This crystal figurine sits atop a black granite base.  The figurine measures 8 1/4 inches tall and 7 1/2 inches wide.

The panther is described as a wild cat (family Felidae).  It lives in Asia, Africa, and America.  Depending on the region of the world it is called a number of different names.  All are essentially the same large cat.  It can be found in forests, prairies, and swamps.

Panthers when fully grown can reach a length of 8 feet and 200 pounds.  They have keen hearing and sight.  They primarily roam as a solitary animal.  Males can roam in a 200 square miles area.  They are extremely agile, powerful, and strong animasl that can leap up to 20 feet.  Panthers usually live from 10 to 15 years.  Males are called panthers.  Females are called she-panthers and are typically smaller than males.  Baby panthers are called cubs.

The Florida Panther is the most endangered.  The name comes from the state they roam in an not necessarily any particular difference within the species.  There are only 160  adult panthers remaining in southern Florida.  Florida panthers are protected by various state laws and the federal Endangered Species Act.

The panther does not habitat well with humans.  They are a carnivores that exists on white tail deer, small animals, rabbits, and birds.

Originally the black panther figurine was produced as a 500 unit limited edition.  Demand has remained so high for the original lot that the value has gone up from the original $960 asking price up to $3000 before the economic recession.
